22 Year Old NBA Player Announces Retirement Due to Depression

Tyrell Terry, 22, a former NBA player, decided to retire from basketball. He claimed that he was overcome by anxiety and despair.

Tyrell Terry made his debut at the G League 2021. He recently announced on his Instagram that he was quitting the sport after experiencing some of the most difficult times in his life.

Terry said in his post: "Intrusive thoughts and waking up nauseous and finding myself struggling with normal breaths due to the rock that would sit upon my chest that seemed heavier than I could bear."

He said that the sport had caused him anxiety, but that he is thankful for the many opportunities that have been opened to him. He stated that he cannot continue to do something he is not in love with.

Terry ended by asking for an apology from those he had disappointed and thanked the people who understood. He would take a new path that would bring him joy.
