Assam Engineering College Admission Notice For M.Tech Programme 2020: Online applications are invited for admission into 1st Semester Class of the two-year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programme in the Civil (36 seats), Mechanical (18 seats) and Electrical (18 seats) Engineering Departments of Assam Engineering College for the session 2020-21.

Eligibility: The eligibility criteria are as follows:
1. Bachelor degree holders in respective Engineering discipline from any AICTE approved Institution with a minimum of 55% marks for General and OBC/MOBC Category and 50% marks for SC and ST category candidates
2. Having valid GATE score [The candidate must have a GATE Score which has validity on the date of Admission]
3. For Candidates under Sponsored Category, the GATE Score is not required. The Merit for candidates under this Category will be decided based on the marks scored in the Admission Test only. In case, the written test cannot be held due to current pandemic situation, the percentage of Marks Scored In their B.E/B.Tech. Examination will be considered to decide their merit.
Selection Procedure:
An Admission Test will be held for selection of candidates. The test will be of one and half hour duration with 70 Multiple Choice Question, Four mar. will be awarded for every correct answer and one mass will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The final Merit List will be prepared by adding 50% of the marks scored In the Admission Test with 50% of valid GATE Seers.
If holding of the pen and paper written test becomes a health hazard to the candidates because of COVID19 pandemic, then the final Merit List will be prepared by Considering only the valid GATE Score.
Reservation of Seats will be made as per existing Norms
Please Note: Candidates having valid GATE score lesser than the qualifying score may also he considered for evaluation of merit Mt subject to the vacancy of seats.
Application Procedure:
Candidates are to apply online at www.aec.ac.in. An Application Fee of Rs 1000/- has to be deposited through online mode. The candidates awaiting results for their final B.E./B.Tech. examination can also apply. But such candidates must submit their result before 15th October 2020 and they must score the minimum eligible score for admission, i.e. 55% marks for General and OBC/MOBC Category and 50% marks for SC and ST category
Ticket/ Admit Card may he downloaded online by entering the Application Number and their date of birth.
